Want to know a bit about me…?
I grew up in Co. Sligo in the North West of Ireland, about halfway between the sea and a forest park.
I made my first pot on the wheel when I was 5 years old at a country fair. It was a kick wheel and I had a lot of help from the potter. Many years later I did a ceramics degree at Limerick School of Art and Design and learnt how to develop sources of inspiration and ideas into finished pieces. Then I did the Pottery Skills Course in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny and learnt how to make pots well. In 2018, I moved to Salisbury and in due course I became apprentice to Julie Ayton, thanks to Adopt a Potter funding. Since then, I’ve worked at the pottery at Salisbury Arts Centre and Messums Creative.
In 2020 I became part of the Find a Maker family, a curated directory of imaginative and highly skilled makers from around Britain. I have my very own studio now in north Dorset, where I also teach weekly evening classes.
